More changes will come. I just wanted to create this PR already as a draft to have a place to discuss the changes and for the development to be a little bit more visible. |

The current state is somewhat usable and could theoretically be merged (if tested a bit more). There are more things I want to implement:
Maybe it would make sense to merge this soon an then work on smaller PRs to implement those points. |
